Obama responds to the Ayers attacks as Palin sits in her own glass house

Barack is interviewed by Charlie Gibson about the revival of the William Ayers ’story’ – and notes that John McCain “wasn’t willing to say it to my face”:

Meanwhile, here’s footage of Sarah Palin “pallin’ around” with the Alaskan Independence Party – a group who don’t seem to like America very much, either, and whose founder was what some might call “a domestic terrorist” (what with him inciting people to take arms up against their own country and being found dead surrounded by explosives, an’ all). Sarah’s husband – sorry, first dude – Todd was a member of the AIP until a few years ago; and Sarah Palin filmed the welcome video below for the AIP convention last year:

As Salon says:

“Imagine the uproar if Michelle Obama was revealed to have joined a black nationalist party whose founder preached armed secession from the United States and who enlisted the government of Iran in his cause? The Obama campaign would probably not have survived such an explosive revelation. Particularly if Barack Obama himself was videotaped giving the anti-American secessionists his wholehearted support just months ago.”

This story really should be coming up more, on the network and cable shows. I think I’ve seen that introduction video once on CNN when Palin got the VP. Sadly we’ve had eight years of the GOP pressurizing the press, with this attitude of criticism of them is unpatriotic. I think there’s a load more to come out of the Palin cupboard, but it probably won’t come out until McCain’s lying in state and she and ‘Dude’ are putting the moosehead up in the oval office.

Even more of a worry seems to be some of the people who guide her in spiritual matters. A Daily Kos article today, reported Palin’s church have recently been giving sermons on Spiritual Warfare, and that Alaska is a Gatepost to heaven, and that the holy spirit will come through Alaska and cleanse the nation of sin. I’m sorry this has nothing to do with Christianity. I think these people must have never heard of the new testament. And these are the people who will be advicing her if elected? More needs to be known Who she really is.

I know. as I have followed this whole election so closely, I have seen for the first time, truly, how the American mainstream media operates (well, as well as one can when relying on online and not TV sources) and it’s been utterly shocking.

I mean, I knew about Fox News etc obviously – but had no idea that major news sources like CNN and MSNBC just ignored massive stories like this one. or Todd Palin’s subpoena, for example.

and exactly: Palin and McCain have the gall to start saying “who is Barack Obama?” as if we don’t know him, he can’t be trusted, he’s a mysterious man of dark secrets. when actually, he’s been interviewed and campaigning talking to people on the stump for 20 months – my god, he’s even written two books about his life so far! compare and contrast SP, who’s been in the public realm for a matter of weeks, and has been kept hidden for most of that!

I suppose this latest tactic of the GOP is, of course, to portray BO as “other”. different. strange. not to be trusted. and would they be trying to hit this nerve if he wasn’t an African-American? I very much doubt it.

Hurrah!! Troopergate has just just been mentioned on CNN. But still no investigation in AIL? Nothing on her wild religious views by our standards at least. But I can imagine there’s quite a few God fearing Americans who’s jaws would drop if they really knew what her pastors were saying.

Now I can’t watch Fox for too long without feeling pretty ill. But for the last two days they have been remarking on the voter registration company Acorn. They say they have exclusive details of voter fraud biased towards democrats including Ohio, which is the state I’d be most scared of losing at present. They also say the Obama campaign has strong links to Acorn. Mainly through BHO’S work as a voter registration coordinator. It’s pretty spurious but Fox are the masters of making something of nothing, and getting the pack to follow. Good news though Troopergate will be public. It just needs to be broadcast thoroughly. Sadly CNN’s most vocal critic of the GOP Jack Cafferty, has gone missing for the last week. Sadly it could be left to Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert to expose these stories. Which should shame the mainstream news media.

…as Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert always do.
