Obama's Inauguration Ceremony: in 12 days, 22 hours, 5 minutes, 54 seconds

British? Want to buy Obama stuff?

Like, y’know, T-shirts and mugs and things?

Well, I learned something interesting the other night. Because foreigners aren’t allowed to donate to American election campaigns, we’re not allowed to indirectly give them money for goods, either. Hence: we can’t buy official Obama/Biden T-shirts, stickers, mugs, CDs, you name it - because the money from the sales of those items is all ploughed back into the campaign.

So what to do if you want to show your support own cool Obama stuff? Go shopping on CafePress.com. They ship internationally and sell just about every Obama (and other)-related item under the sun - including clothing, mugs, stickers, badges, babygros and dog T-shirts. My personal favourite being the ‘Got milk?’ spoof T-shirt above, $21.99.

Their international shipping costs are listed here and what with our lovely British pound being so strong and the dollar being so weak (I blame deregulation), it means that buying this T-shirt, for example, would cost you £15 including postage. Which seems a small price to pay for hope, doesn’t it?

Nice article. I wanted to mention that there is a way to help Obama through the purchase of t-shirts, and that is to make sure your shopkeeper, whether at Cafepress or Zazzle, donates to Obama’s campaign. Sometimes that information is listed on the store’s website, sometimes you have to contact the shopkeeper. For example, my shop, http://www.scarebaby.com , has a large selection of Obama gear, and we donate liberally to Obama and other causes. Thank you.
