Barack’s Grandmother has died

The sad news is just in. Obama’s Grandmother Madelyn Dunham has died aged 86 of cancer.

She had not been well recently, causing her grandson to suspend his presidential campaign in order to spend time with her in Hawaii.

All our hearts go out to Barack and his family at this sad time.

Make her proud.

Terrible news, the end of one life means the start of another, hopefully Obama’s as president.

I hope the time he recently spent with her let them both let the inevitable pass with less pain.

I also hope that Barack wins, and shames the RNC for their criticism of his suspension of his campaign to pay his respects:

I can’t believe it. I really can’t. Its so sad. So very upsetting.

    She won’t be forgotten.

Its obvious that without her Barack wouldn’t be the man he is today. For that reason, she will live on in all of our memories as the woman who gave us such a well rounded and honest leader.

They just went live to Charlotte North Carolina on CNN where Obama spoke of her in what will be one of his final campaign speeches.

He was evidently cut up and welled into tears at one point. But, he stayed on the message of change and gave another truly great performance.

She must have been quite a woman.

As you can imagine, Barack’s supporters here in the USA are devastated at the news. Her story, told so eloquently by the grandson she raised, touched us all. How sad that she will not be there to witness his shining moment! Perhaps she went on ahead to help pave his way tomorrow with heavenly intervention!
Despite the wide margin in polls, we dare not celebrate too soon. The mishandling of the election in 2000 taught us that some people will stop at nothing to corrupt the vote! Instead, we hope and pray that it will be Obama helping usfind our way back to an America we can be proud of (and England can be proud to be an ally of!).
“Toot”- may you rest in peace. You have gifted all of us with a man whose vision and heart may well save us.

thank you NewYorkJulie – I have no doubt that you will have every reason to be incredibly proud of your country’s choice of President tomorrow. have an amazing election day.

Her job on earth is done. May she rest in peace. For the US a new beginning guided by the hand of the man she raised so well. God bless the Obama family and God bless the USA to make the right choice today.
