BBC’s Justin Webb features E4O

Monday, June 30th, 2008

In a recent blog post over at Justin Webb’s America the BBC’s North America editor linked to England for Obama:

Obama’s summer
What’s the betting he’s in each destination for no more than a day. But there’ll be much excitement in the UK no doubt and perhaps even a re-vivification of the rather moribund-looking England for Obama site.

I did wonder why we had that little spike in hits a few days ago.

Its a real shame he had to refer to the site as moribund (stagnant) :(

Truth be told, the site has dropped off since Obama won the nomination. Its a case of looking for a new angle and for new contributors to come forward who can help us cover the election, not the nomination.

If you have what it takes then Help us out!

Lies

Obama’s Fight the Smears website has an insightful page listing people who have spread lies about Obama and his campaign.

The list includes Craig Shirley who owns the website Stop-him-now.com a right-wing scare-fest which includes articles such as ‘Obama’s sham Christianity‘ and ‘Actual communist endorses Obama’.

Classy!

Obama set for change in US/UK relations

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

People in England should welcome Barack Obama’s call for a ‘re-calibration’ of US-UK relations so they become more equal. In his telephone address to US expatriates in London, Senator Obama confirmed the view of British Government officials that he is the most pro-British of the three Presidential candidates.

The recent comments are the clearest indication yet of a potential sea-change in Anglo-American relations if Mr.Obama is elected in November. Unqestionably, the ’special relationship’ that has dured between our two Countries since the World Wars, has been placed under strain by Tony Blair’s unquestioning support of President George W.Bush during the Iraq War.

With an end to the ”Yo Blair” era, comes an opportunity to build a new epoch of economic, diplomatic and cultural links to advance the democratic values we both share.

Gore backs Obama

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

NYT - Gore Appears With Obama

Former Vice President Al appeared in Detroit tonight for his debut campaign appearance with Senator Barack Obama, extending an endorsement and urging all Democrats to rally behind the party’s fall ticket.

It had to happen sooner or later and you just know that once elected Obama won’t let poor old Al stay in political retirement. My guess is some sort of modern climate/environmental office will be created for Mr Gore manage.

Mission Accomplished

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

Today it appears certain that Barack Obama will become the Presidential Nominee for the US Democratic party in the 2008 elections.

Mission Accomplished

2,118 Delegates

Obama has 2,154 delegates to Hillary Clinton’s 1,919. There now seems no way forward for the former first lady.

Its been an amazing journey for Obama and his supporters. I hope in some small way this website helped to contribute to his success.
